Introduction to Photoshop: For Digital Photographers

January 25th – March 8th Thursday evenings 6:30 to 9:00 in the digital lab at PCC  $95.00 – limited to 15 students

Taught by Stan ReimerStudents will explore the many tools in Photoshop that can enhance (or save) their images. Post-production is necessary to achieve quality. Each student will have their own work- station. Photoshop CC is now available for home use at $9.99 a month via the internet, no contract (we will discuss this option in the class). Questions. Join us for an evening of painting Van Gogh Sunflowers on a 16×20 Canvas with Acrylics. In this class we will sketch the objects and then we will work from the background to the foreground – step by step under the direction of artist Mary Harden from Bucklin, Kansas.


Love in a Box Collage

Quilt Design:  Simple Patchwork

Description: Have you always had an interest in quilting, but didn’t quite know how to get started? Students in this beginning class will have the opportunity to choose among 4 simple quilt kits that utilize some of the basic piecing techniques. The kits make a 48X60 quilt top. The kits and all of the supplies and tools will be furnished. Bring your sewing machine or if you don’t have one yet, we will provide one for you to use on this project. If you have a project you have started and want to continue with, the instructors will guide you through your project as well. The instructors for the class are Joy and Glen Davis.

Our online exhibit catalog is Coming Soon! Thanks to the generosity of our guest artists, this exhibition has been organized as a fundraiser for the Filley Art Museum!

 40% of sales are donated to the art museum (which can be tax deductible for those who purchase artwork during this show). Your contribution helps the Filley Museum accomplish our mission and serve our community.  By purchasing artwork during this show you are donating funds that will go back to the community in the form of services that the art museum provides. Some of our programming includes school and educational tours, art classes, exhibits, lectures, and unique art based events.

Jim Richardson is a photographer for National Geographic Magazine and a contributing editor for its sister publication, TRAVELER Magazine.  Richardson has photographed more than 30 stories for National Geographic. Richardson’s work takes him around the world, from the tops of volcanic peaks to below the surface of swamps and wetlands.Tuesday, March 13thfrom 5-7pm: Business Appreciation Cocktail Reception.
