KMMM AM 1290 has been broadcasting in Pratt since 1963 when Bill Huffman broke ground and went on the air July 17, 1963. In 2007 Rocking M. Radio, Inc. purchased a group of radio stations of which KMMM was a part of.
The Miller family established what has become known as Rocking M Media, LLC (RMM) as a business development company. RMM has 24 radio stations, digital and social media sites, a sign company and live events that it owns and operates.
The principals of RMM are Monte and Doris Miller and their son Quinn Miller. The Miller family has been developing businesses in Kansas for more than 100 years. They have owned newspapers, television stations and now radio stations. Monte Miller’s grandfather was A.Q. Miller and he started the family media business with owning newspapers in Kansas and Colorado in the 1880’s. The Journalism School at Kansas State University is named The A.Q. Miller Family School of Journalism and Mass Communications.
The RMM group of 24 radio stations covers all of Central and Western Kansas and parts of Nebraska, Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming. The population in the counties that are under the RMM radio stations is OVER 1 Million people according to the US Census Website.
Rocking M. Media Pratt is home to KMMM AM 1290 the Voice of South Central Kansas and Wheat State Signs. In 2013 Wheat State Signs was purchased when Feil decided to move on to greater ventures and sold then 29 Signs to Rocking M Radio and the company currently resides at the KMMM studios located at 30129 E. US Hwy 54 in Pratt, Kansas.
