The Macksville Community has announced that the American Red Cross will host a blood drive on Friday, April 19 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Anyone who meets eligibility requirements for blood donations are encouraged to donate to help boost the American Red Cross’ blood supply. The American Red Cross has set a goal of 48 pints of blood to be collected during the drive. Those interested in donating blood can stop by Macksville Christian Church fellowship hall at 234 North Sheaffer Avenue during the blood drive, or make an appointment by calling 348-3205 or by emailing [email protected]
The American Red Cross works with more than 50,000 blood drive sponsors each year to hold approximately 200,000 blood drives nationwide. Donations make it possible for the Red Cross to provide blood for patients in nearly 3,000 hospitals across the United States.
“We are looking forward to hosting the upcoming blood drive, as it will serve as a wonderful way for our community to give back to others,” said Mary Beth Massey, on-site community manager for Macksville. “With more than 44,000 blood donations needed every day, we strongly support the American Red Cross and its mission to provide compassionate care to individuals in need, as one donation can help save the lives of up to three people. We encourage those who live near Macksville to participate in this worthy community event.
