Do you have Diabetes? Do you want to know more about diabetes? Do you know other people you can sit down with and talk to about issues that are of major importance to you, and others like you, who have diabetes? Do you want to be able to share and sample recipes’ that are diabetes friendly? Do you enjoy helping/teaching other people what you have learned about living with diabetes?
Did you know that there has been a Living Well With Diabetes Support Group meeting monthly for the last year?
This group, sponsored by Prairie Independent Living Resource Center Inc., is planning to re-form and pick a new time and date to meet that is convenient for those who wish to participate.
The group does not cost anything. It is members run. And, it had been able to bring several speakers in to talk about current diabetes related news articles, diabetes and foot care, diabetes and your teeth, diabetes and your eyes, nutrition, and more.
Some of the members have really enjoyed the simple opportunity to sit down and meet people who are ‘like them,’ and to encourage each other, as well as the learning opportunities.
If you have any amount of interest in being a part of this group please call, or stop by and visit, Stan Hendershot at Prairie Independent Living Resource Center Inc., 103 W. 2nd, 620-672-9600, [email protected]
Let us know that you are interested, and what time/day works best for you to meet. We want to get as many people as possible together as the more people there, the more the group has to offer.
