Hypnotism – from a Greek word meaning sleep

My name is Joe Stotts and I’m a Certified Hypnotherapist. I have been in the practice of hypnotherapy for over 32 years. Now, don’t take that to mean that I’m old, I actually started when I was 3.

Only joking, all of the experience that I have had in this field has been one hundred percent professional, individual sessions no groups, with a 98% success rate and extremely beneficial to those who choose to help themselves by seeing me. You see, I do 75 percent of the work as the hypnotherapist, and the client does 25percent by sheer willpower. It takes a lot of courage to admit one has a problem, be it their weight, a smoking addiction, depression, or other issues hitting the self-esteem. My motto is “a dream without action remains a dream, but a dream with action becomes a reality”. Fear holds us back; negatives such as the words “I can’t” deem us helpless and hopeless. My job as a hypnotherapist is to help those that wish to help themselves, and change the feeling of “I can’t to I can”.

So how does it work? I replace the negative in a client’s mind with positive. The subconscious mind is incredibly powerful, and can control everyday actions without the conscious mind being aware. This is what makes us susceptible to addiction, and chronic pain. What I do can in no way instruct a person to do anything against their will or morals, but can in many ways change the negative thoughts they are unaware of to help overcome what’s troubling them. For instance, with weight loss, I put them in control of food and food no longer controls them, which allow them to eat to live and not live to eat. With smokers, I get rid of 75% of their psychological addiction. Regarding depression and low self-esteem, I get rid of all the negatives and replace them with positives; it’s like cleansing the body from the inside out.

I must clarify that I give no credit to myself and my words, but instead give it to God. Anyone has the power to sit and listen to someone explain their problems, and even provide a few tips of advice, but I have seen some amazing things happen that I cannot take credit for. I have seen clients who came in with walkers leave walking upright on their own. The human mind is an amazing thing that may never completely be understood by anyone, but that doesn’t mean that it can’t be used to our advantage through positive thoughts and actions. Hypnosis is often the first step in making those positive changes, and I am honored to have helped so many people start that journey.
