PCC Performing Arts Department Showcase – Sunday, September 22, 2:30 p.m. PCC Carpenter Auditorium. The show will feature a variety of students and community members singing, acting and dancing with Jack Ewing hosting the event.

“Beavers Ignite – a Community/PCC Pep Rally” – Monday, September 23, 6:30 p.m. PCC basketball arena. The community is invited to come out for a meet-and-greet with local businesses; performances by the PCC cheer squad, performing arts and the pep band; pictures with Bucky Beaver; door prizes for signed PCC sports memorabilia and season passes.

Education Coffee Break – It’s inspiring information that you won’t want to miss! – September 24, 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. USD 382 and the Kansas Association of School Boards (KASB) are hosting this coffee break at Liberty Middle School They will present information on the progress of Kansas public education. 

Low Vision and Community Resource Fair hosted by PILR (Prairie Independent Living Resource Center, Inc.) September 24, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Pratt Municipal Building 20+ local and state-wide service providers will be there to answer questions. Participants include: South Central Assistive Technology of Wichita, TAP Telecommunications of Topeka, State Talking Books of Emporia, NanoPac from Tulsa, OK

The service providers will be providing information on resources available for assisting with physical, cognitive and behavior challenges with many focused on low vision.The “target audience” are people of all ages who are experiencing the effects of low vision and other challenges and the day-to-day issues that arise. Admission is free.

Understanding Your Grief: Touchstones for Hope and Healing Community Seminar Tuesday, September 24, 7-9 p.m. Presented by Dr. Alan D. Wolfelt at First United Methodist Church, Pratt Join us for an evening of hope and healing.  Participants will be able to quietly reflect on their losses and honor their own unique grief journey.  Open to the public and free of cost. 

Death, Grief & Mourning Seminar Workshop Wednesday, September 25, 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (check-in begins at 8:30 am) Presented by Dr. Alan D. Wolfelt at First United Methodist Church, Pratt This stimulating workshop will help members of the care giving community who want to enhance their knowledge and skills related to supporting people experiencing grief care and emphasize the importance of “companioning” not “treating” the mourner.

  • $65 Early Bird registration through September 18th

Health Insurance Marketplace – A Series of Educational Sessions The Pratt Public Library and Pratt Regional Medical Center invite you to attend a series of educational sessions to learn about and access the new Health Insurance Marketplace, which was created as a result of the Affordable Care Act.

Pratt Young Professionals – semi-annual Community Clean-up September 28 PYP is looking for projects for their semi-annual Community Clean-up that will take place on September 28.  PYP will organize volunteers to complete clean-up projects at various pre-selected properties throughout the city of Pratt.  Potential clean-up projects can range from raking leaves and cleaning up brush, trash and debris, to cleaning gutters and storm windows.  PYP will only consider outdoor projects.  Properties will be selected based on financial need or a property owner’s physical condition rendering him/her unable to complete the task themselves.  If you or someone you know might have a potential project you would like PYP to consider, please contact the Pratt Area Chamber of Commerce (114 N. Main) or 672-5501 for an application.
